Awhile back I reported that Spitzer, aka Damien and Matthieu Spitzer from Lyon, France, were cooking up a little remix for the beautiful Kylie Minogue. I feel it should also be noted that it appears they were asked by Kylie’s people to undertake this remix, not any other way around. Now simply being talked to by one of the reigning dance pop diva’s of the past decade {not to mention her brilliant portrayal of a gorgeous scientist in Bio-Dome} is a good sign you’re doing the right then, but then there’s also the fact that this remix is hot. And yes, I’m talking Kylie Minogue hot.

This also came in the personal email from the boys. A little bit of news. “We’ve been contacted by record companies but the definitive choice is not already made.” I reckon, making music like this, that they have a license to wait for a better deal. And they should. To stay up to date on all things Spitzer make sure you check out their myspace page as that’s where most of their updates happen.

Spitzer is the dynamic brotherly duo of Damien and Matthieu Spitzer out of Lyon, France. As self proclaimed producers {not DJs} they make a minimalist style of techno that feels a lot like familiar electronic dance hall music with a dash of the early innovations of Moby or present day Daft Punk {although again, they’re not DJs, they’re producers}. One thing that I can see seperates them from a lot of their present day counterparts is the curious lack of vocals on many, if not all, of their tracks. Even with the absence of the human voice each track seems to tell a story that is interesting from “once upon a time” to “happily ever after.” Their debut EP, Roller Coaster, will be released soon and if their myspace page and the songs they’ve allowed me to sample are any indication these brothers are going to be big names in the dance/techno/remix arena in this new year.

I would have loved to unload a few more tracks on you all, as they’re all some of the most easily danceable original music I’ve heard in ages, but I was asked to limit my selection to only one song. Spitzer really is brilliant though, watch out for these guys in the near future. Rumour has it they were also asked to undertake the making of a super awesome {possibly secret} remix for Kylie Minogue.
