Florence and The Machine cover Beirut

Florence and The Machine have always pulled at my ears due to the copious amount of quality remixes their songs produce.  Although, for whatever reason, I haven’t really found myself listening much to their original work.  That might all change if they keep putting out emotional covers of brilliant songs.  Postcards from Italy is easily the most recognizable Beirut track and Florence and The Machine provide a mostly straightforward interpretation of the song complete with ukulele and plaintive vocals.

In the most basic sense this cover simply works.  Enjoy.

I enjoyed the Beirut cover as well, but I can’t recommend the group’s debut “Lungs” enough. Fantastic stuff.
