Oh Richard, you stupid bitch. We all realize that they have released singles and albums for the past ten years. But none of them were made half as much talk among blogs. Billy isn’t saying that They will fold after this album, he’s just saying much of their intrigued first time listeners will. They just aren’t good enough to hold the attention of the average person’s musical sense.
Granted, your musical sense may be below average. But I see no argument there, seeing as how you are defending ladytron.

Wow, looks like quite a heated blog post!

Personally I cannot wait to hear the new album, it should be as good as (if not better) than Witching Hour (which was their best).

For those saying they’re a flash in the pan, well hardly for a band who’ve been releasing singles and albums for almost 10 years!

As for the fan base, trust me there are thousands of fans worldwide.

I knew this kind of backlash would happen against Ladytron. People are so fickle. They complain when a band don’t get hyped, then when the band ARE hyped the same people start hating on them BECAUSE of the hype.

Good music is good music, wherever it comes from and how popular it is.

And, more seriously, did that first comment about the whole flash-in-the-pan thing really include this line?

Are you f***ing kidding me? Who in their right mind wants a band to work their “inner Fergies”? Everytime I hear a Fergie song or am unlucky enough to come across one of her music videos as I flip through channels, I seriously contemplate killing myself. Everything about Fergie is just wrong. I mean, seriously, I think Farrakhan Faucet should growing out of the awkward pre-pubescent Jr. High girl phase she’s stuck in before she goes to another concert. Seriously, I programmed my television recently to skip over E!, MTV, and VH1 so I wouldn’t have to put up with mistakenly flipping across a channel and seeing her face.

this is to CB, mago, faucet, and anyone else who’s actually commenting here now. i will not apologize for saying Ladytron’s popularity is going to be flash in the pan. mark my words. their new album will come out, they’ll be incredibly popular for about a month, and they won’t end up making any end of the year best of 2008 lists. at all. there’s a lot of hype surrounding their new album {largely due to the work of nettwerk} but i can’t imagine a scenario in which Ladytron is going to maintain their current level of popularity much past their album’s release date.

seroiusly, get over it. y’all sound like i just personally insulted your mom or something. Ladytron = not that amazing. i like their sound, but it’s not going to capture the world.

While there is no doubt they they have had increased popularity with each album, that actually defines success. Flash in the pan is a comment made without regard to history or in this case sales. They are an absolutely fun band live, so one should withhold judgment and unfounded commentary without any insight. I could point to your last umpteen posts for “flash in the pan” acts, but it would not be fair to do so. I am sorry you are not smarter and somehow your pointless rant ended up on a blog aggregator.
