I like this band a lot. I think they have a completely unique style of crafting music that is at once precocious and a true aural delight. And I find it odd that these qualities exist in a band created by Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade. You see, I view Wolf Parade as basic Modest Mouse rip off artists without much real interest to their music, lyrics, or style and yet from this band musical goodies flourish.
On this latest effort the music is intriguing and diverse. There seem to be layers upon layers that can only truly be appreciated after repeat listening. And understand, I try to digest all of my new music aqcuistions in this manner, but it’s not always this fun to put a new album on repeat for a couple of hours. Anyway, the album is called Random Spirit Lover (iTunes), and is a worth follow up to the previous effort, Shut Up I Am Dreaming (iTunes). Check it out and enjoy the song below, it’s track three off of the new album. And yes, this really is the title of the song and not a Sufjan Stevens contest for longest song title of the decade.

Honestly, it just sounds like they’re having fun. Which I’ve heard can be hard to do if you call Canada home. (Oh, I said it!)
